2012 the Fifth China Data Center Conference: Transformation of Data Center

        On March 30, 2012, the Fifth China Data Center Conference was held in Beijing International Hotel Conference Center. The conference is sponsored by the China Electronic Information Industry Development Research Institute, held by China Computer Newspaper.. More than 600 representatives in each industry include famous experts and manufacturers participated in this conference. Wu Baogui, deputy chief engineer of China Electronic Information Industry Development Research Institute,made a speech at the conference. He said that the data center is the main support platform for enterprise’s IT construction, under the premise of effectiveness and reasonable control of the total cost of ownership, and gain valuable information from the large data; how to efficiently take advantage of cloud computing resources to better serve the enterprise business development services, as well as how to simplify data management, are challenges the enterprises have to face. Data experts from Taiwan's Cloud Computing Alliance Technical Expert Committee, the representatives of the cloud data center users, Dr. Peng Telecom Media Group, including Hewlett-Packard, IBM, PANDUIT, Po Roth, CommScope, Dell, Oracle, Simon, China Network the world super-cloud, Informatica, Teradata, CCID and so on participated in the annual conference.
        With the theme of "Transformation of Data Center in the Era of Big Data", the participants discussed comprehensively and deeply on challenges and opportunities data center would face on construction, operation and maintenance, control and services in the era of big data. The challenges of large data mainly reflected in three aspects: the challenges of the communications capabilities, the challenges of storage capacity and computing power challenges.For users of all walks of life, data and information has become a cloud computing, and the basis and foundation of the era of large data information technology and business decisions. On the average of every two years, the amount of the enterprise will double, these new data, more than 80% of them are unstructured data. In addition, cloud computing process and analyze vast amounts of data, data management technology must adapt to these changes. We have entered the cloud computing era. New technologies and concepts such as virtualization, cloud computing, Internet of Things, and large data have emerged. These new technologies, new ideas will not only have a profound impact on the infrastructure, operation and maintenance of the data center, and will further promote the business model change.
        The conference is divided into the morning Forum and closed CIO Symposium in the afternoon. On the Forum in the morning, large data experts from Taiwan's Cloud Computing Alliance Technical Expert Committee member Chen Yujie introduced industry changes caused by the large data from a macro point of view. Vice President Zhang Guangjian, Executive Director of Dr. Peng Telecom Media Group, described the construction and implementation of the Asia's largest single cloud data center in detail. In addition, the chief storage consultant for Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific and Japan region, Paul Haverfield, IBM Asia Pacific region data experts Wei, U.S. PANDUIT Greater China Director Liang Jun, spoke respectively from different points of view about storage, data intelligence, data center and described large changes in the data time, the data center infrastructure and data analysis.
        Having been held for five times, the conference made some innovation both on form and content. The conference opened three closing CIO Symposium according to different industry hot topics for the first time. Three seminars were “efficient data centers with energy-saving, virtualization and cloud data center construction, and large data analysis and data governance ". CIOs from different industries have been invented to discuss thus built a bridge of communication between manufacturers and uers.
