General electric is divided into single-phase and three-phase, while the voltage waveform  is sine wave, due to the characteristics of electrical equipment (input terminal is rectifier filter circuit or inductive load), the input current contains higher harmonic or behind some phase of input voltage waveform, that results the power consumption is lower than the energy it generates and with worse power factor.
